Hey friends welcome back to Engage Your Destiny. I’m Ben Peterson the founder and CEO of Engage Your Destiny and today we’re diving into a crucial topic: the challenges faced by young men in America and how we can navigate through these trying times. This message is especially for military veterans their families and those who want to follow Jesus and live a purpose-driven life.
Our current generation is facing unprecedented challenges. Young people are often judged for their decisions but we must remember that God has advanced His kingdom through the young before. This is a time filled with confusion and ambiguity which often leads to increased anxiety.
For instance significant issues include the confusion around gender and sexuality and the troubling early exposure to inappropriate content like pornography among children. Furthermore young people are facing skyrocketing living costs that make the idea of homeownership seem almost impossible leading to a pervasive mindset of defeat.
Technology has radically altered our world and the church has often lagged behind cultural and technological shifts. From missing the smartphone revolution to underestimating the impact of social media there have been several missed opportunities. Now as artificial intelligence begins to percolate we must stay ahead of the curve and prepare for the future it will shape.
Currently 5 million able-bodied men are missing from the workforce and among 18 to 25-year-olds one in five is a NEET (not in education employment or training). There’s a pervasive hopelessness: a belief that traditional milestones like marriage family and homeownership aren’t worth pursuing. Connection has been replaced by screens leading to social anxiety and a preference for digital interaction over real-world engagement.
Despite these challenges we cannot count out this generation. Past generations have faced their own hardships, like the Great Depression, and emerged stronger. The same potential lies within today’s youth. If you’re a young person today you’re consuming more information in a day than someone did a century ago in their lifetime which can lead to mental fatigue. It’s important to embrace grace for yourself amid this turbulence.
The most important relationship you can foster is with your heavenly Father. In these times reducing input and increasing meaningful output like prayer is crucial. Connecting spiritually offers more fulfillment than endless scrolling ever could. Pray earnestly seeking God’s guidance and letting His spirit fill you. This connection can invigorate your soul and equip you to change the world.
This moment in history presents unprecedented challenges but it is also filled with immense potential and purpose. If God created you for this time then the grace and destiny He holds for you are beyond measure. Make the choice to engage deeply to cry out to your Creator and to let His spirit guide your path.
In closing I extend an invitation. Visit EngageYourDestiny.org to support our mission of ministering to our military members. Every donation helps us make a difference. Stay tuned for our upcoming book release and join us on this journey to share this vital message across the nation.
God bless and I look forward to connecting with you again soon.
